Colchester & District Pipes & Drums is a popular band for parties functions and festivals.They are  members of the  Royal Scottish Pipe Bands Association (RSPBA) and has playing members with up to 20 or more years experience of playing traditional and modern Scottish pipe music.

 

The band is available as a:

 

  • Full pipes and drums band in all its finery

  • Mini band 4 to 6 pipers and 2 or 3 drummers  

  • Solo pipers

  • Scottish Ceilidh Band with Disco  

 

You can hire the band to come and play at your party, function or corporate event. Choose your own favourite pieces of music, or let us compile a programe from our extensive repertoire of traditional and modern music tailored to perfectly suit any occasion.

 We are  looking for new members, either novices or experienced players who want to learn or take their playing skills to another level.  The band has a structured teaching program that enables all members to develop at their own pace with full support and encouragement.

Colchester & District Pipes & Drums was formed in January 2010 and has grown to just over 20 playing members as of March 2010. The Crest used by the band goes back to the year 1558 (See Crest History) The members come from all walks of life with one thing in common, we all enjoy playing traditional and modern pipe music. The band have played at a number of Charity events this year including SSAFA and Help 4 Heroes in Lion Walk, Colchester, this year we are booked to play at a number of weddings, fetes, the cruise terminal at Parkeston Quay and a School Prom See Events.

The band proudly wear the Colchester & District  Pipes & Drums tartan, which was designed by our Chairman and is registered as unique by the Scottish Register of Tartans.
